Some of my Charlie Day-esque "IT'S ALL CONNECTED" Rabbit Holes:

  • Wikipedia's Article on Tantra: you may start to see references to it in various Indian Vedic practices, but it's dense, complicated, and Westerners have conflated aspects of it with sexual practices; I can't give you a brief summary, you'll have to read it on your own.
  • Wikipedia's Article on Theosophy: why/how Western White people appropriated Eastern traditions and tried to make something new.
  • Phil Hine of enfolding.org, connecting Chakras to Theosophy, also appears to have some interesting articles on polarity and heteronormativity, but I haven't finished reading them yet -- I had held off because of his use of the word "tantric" (see above).
